Replacing Manual Crank to Electronic Tension Head - Installing Wise 2086 on Tourna CS-350

Wise 2086 Tension Head
Mounting bracket (included with Wise)
Allen keys / hex wrench
Screwdriver (depending on machine model)
Power cable (included)
Your manual crank machine

🧩 Step-by-Step Installation
STEP 1 — Remove the Manual Crank Tensioner
Identify the bolts holding the crank tensioner assembly.
Use an Allen key or wrench to remove the screws.
Slide the crank tensioner off the tension bar.
Store the crank unit safely—you can reinstall it anytime.

STEP 2 — Prepare the Tension Bar for the Wise Head
The Wise 2086 requires:
A flat tension bar, or
The adapter bracket to be installed
On the Tourna CS-350 / Gamma / Alpha machines:
The bar is already compatible, or
You attach the included Wise L-bracket using the screw holes
Make sure the bar is:
Clean
Level
Firm (no wobble)

STEP 3 — Install the Wise Mounting Bracket
Take the L-shaped metal bracket that comes with the 2086.
Align the holes with the same holes used by the crank tensioner.
Insert screws and tighten securely.
Make sure:
The bracket sits firmly and flush
It does not tilt downward
The Wise head must stay level for accurate tension.

STEP 4 — Slide the Wise 2086 Unit Onto the Bracket
Lift the Wise machine (it’s heavy—hold from the bottom!).
Slide it onto the bracket track until snug.
Tighten the locking knob underneath.
Your Wise unit should now be mounted and stable.

STEP 5 — Adjust String Gripper Height (VERY IMPORTANT)
When the Wise pulls tension, the string should be:
Level with your machine’s clamp base
Not angled up or down
Use the height adjustment screws if needed.

STEP 6 — Plug in Power and Run Self-Test
Connect the power supply.
Turn ON the Wise 2086.
Let it run the automatic motor test.
Set desired tension (ex: 52 lbs).
Test pulling a sample string.
If:
The string slips → tighten gripper
Pull is uneven → recalibrate height

⚙️ STEP 7 — Configure Settings
Recommended beginner setup:
Pull speed: Medium
Pre-stretch: OFF (unless using multifilament or natural gut)
Constant pull: ON
Knot function: Optional

🎾 You Are Now Ready to String Electrically!

Your machine is now fully converted to an electric constant-pull stringer, offering:
More accuracy
Less fatigue
More consistent results
Faster workflow
